The good and the bad of the condom
There is an obvious good side to the condom - enabling consenting adults to enjoy sexual intercourse while helping prevent unwanted pregnancy and the transmission of sexually transmitted diseases. Some might even classify the reduced sensation for the condom wearing male an additional benefit since he might last longer than his bare-skinned brother. There is however a potential bad side to the condom. Careless consumers who leave the used product on the bedroom floor can experience increased anxiety levels if the condom cannot be found the next morning. The level of anxiety reached depends on a number of variables. These may or may not include such items as: a pre-existing heart condition, high blood pressure, the possible level of intoxication the night before, the amount of coffee consumed that morning, is the cleaner coming today and are the parents visiting tonight. One more variable that deserves special mention this week: is there a dog in the house. If there is a dog in the house, chances are your precious pooch gobbled up the you-know-what only seconds after it hit the floor. If this possibility is suspected, it is not recommended to go online and google a phrase such as "dog eats condom" because reading the related horror stories could lead to a panicking dog owner scheduling emergency surgery probably at ridiculous cost to all involved. The preferred alternative is to wait for the condom(s) to pass naturally. This should occur approximately 24 hours after ingestion, upon which, after the initial vomiting reflex has subsided, anxiety levels should quickly return to normal. If you didn't learn your lesson the first time, a small to medium sized dog should be capable of naturally passing three condoms within a 7 day period, but this should be considered the absolute maximum. So there you have it. While the condom enables intense pleasure to many, please beware of the possible bad side of these small rubber devices, especially to any curious dogs that may be in the vicinity!

To leap or not to leap, that is the question
After a few events over the last week or so, I have come to ponder what it is that makes guys run screaming from the prospect of a relationship with a member of the opposite sex. I know a lot of guys jump in with both feet, hell I was one of them, but life is not black and white and on some spectrum, I do believe there is something inherent in every living male that makes them afraid of commitment. Maybe the saying "once burnt, twice shy", or however it goes, is really true and I am just sitting here nursing old wounds. Or maybe, to use another cliche, "the grass is always greener" because while sitting here home alone it honestly feels like it would be nice to share my quiet Sunday afternoon. On the other hand I have meet a handful of seemingly eligible women over the last few months and of course I usually end up getting their details, but only seconds after we part, I sense a huge feeling of relief and have absolutely no intention of seeing them ever again. And on the scale of nice guys I would generously rate myself somewhere between "does his best" and "reasonably decent"! But first and foremost I am an honest guy. Stay tuned.

People!
What is it with me today?!? Way too many people in this world have so little capacity to live along side their fellow humans in a considerate fashion. Let's face it - in this capitalist society everyone is so compelled to illustrate their self-perception of success in such truly selfish and empty ways. I am aware enough to see that I am far from perfect with these most basic of human values, but come on people, enough is enough. In the words of John Lennon: "you may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not he only one, I hope some day you join us, and the world will be as one".

The first post...
The first post on my new blog. What to say? What about what I am doing right now, that seems relevant. Well, it's 5:05pm and I am still sitting in a meeting room at work while some colleagues discuss the schedule of a new project. I am thinking about going home where I will continue developing my new interest in baseball, while catching up on some work (how many people wittle away their private lives by sitting on the couch with the work laptop open? At least I enjoyed the great weather today by getting out for a ride). The World Series could end tonight if the Yankees win so not the most logical time to develop in interest in this sport. My room mate will no doubt bring home a jar of liquid gold so I better get something for the bbq and fix dinner. Ok, so this first post is not really meeting my expectations for creative writing so I am going to end it. Lets see what happens next time...
